A 20-year-old man, Haruna Haruna, has died after a fight broke out during a naming ceremony in Kwata Village, Warji Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
A security expert, Zagazola Makama, disclosed this in a statement on X on Thursday.
According to him, the incident occurred on Tuesday when an argument among some youths reportedly degenerated into a violent scuffle, leaving Haruna unconscious.
He wrote, “A 20-year-old man, Haruna Haruna of Kwata Village, Warji Local Government Area, Bauchi State, has reportedly died following a violent altercation during a naming ceremony on 2 December 2025.
“Zagazola understands that a misunderstanding among some youths at the ceremony escalated into a physical fight, leaving the victim in a comatose state.”
Haruna was said to have been rushed to the General Hospital, Warji, but died while receiving treatment.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakili, said he was in a meeting and promised to revert.
He had yet to do so as of the time this report was filed.
PUNCH Metro reported in November that some suspected gunmen killed a man, Muhammad Bakoshi, after invading Zalau, a village in the Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
