The Lagos State Governor will inaugurate a five-year agricultural and food system roadmap in the Lagos state Today.
The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya, said the roadmap would focus on the development of agricultural value chains where the state had competitive and comparative advantages to ensure that the state’s self-sufficiency in food production moves from 18 per cent to 40 per cent in the next five years.
Olusanya, who noted that the governor would inaugurate the roadmap at the Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, said the five-year roadmap was also expected to boost food production and extremely reduce post-harvest losses, thus encouraging private sector investments that would trigger agricultural transformation in the South-Western states.
The commissioner urged interested participants to join the program virtually by registering at https://lagosagric.com/, adding that the event would also be streamed live on all the social media platforms of the ministry.
