Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, on Thursday presented a N642.9 billion appropriation bill for the 2026 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly for consideration.
Presenting the budget in Birnin Kebbi, the governor said capital expenditure will take 70 per cent, while recurrent expenditure accounts for 25 per cent of the total proposal.
He noted that the 2026 budget prioritises basic education, agriculture, health, infrastructure, and empowerment programmes across the state.
Idris said the proposal was designed to consolidate ongoing development efforts and improve service delivery in key sectors.
Speaker of the House, Muhammad Usman-Zuru, said the Assembly would give the appropriation bill prompt legislative attention.
He commended the existing cooperation between the executive and the legislature, assuring that the House would carry out its responsibilities in line with the law.
