Google Approves Naira Payment On Play Store

Google has teamed with Verve to make digital transactions on the Google Play Store more convenient for Nigerians.

Nigerians can now use their Verve cards to make Google Play Store purchases as of today.

Under its new relationship, Google will handle Verve transactions within Nigeria, and that the transactions will be conducted in naira and recognised as local transactions by the country’s banking institutions.

Anthea Crawford, Google Play’s Head of Retail and Payment Partnerships, stated, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Verve, expanding Google Play access for more Nigerians

The introduction of local payments with Verve cards is a significant milestone, enabling more Nigerians to participate in the app economy and access the apps they need.”
