The Skagit County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office dismissed on Aug. 22 rape charges against a former Island County Sheriff’s Office deputy.
According to an order of dismissal approved in Skagit County Superior Court, three charges of second-degree rape were dismissed because prosecutors believed they were unlikely to be able to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
