The Federal High Court has declared the unilateral Amendment of the Rules of Professional Conduct for Lawyers by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami SAN, illegal and void.
In the case filed by the Incorporated Trustees of The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, against the Attorney General of Federation [AGF] and marked FHC/ABJ/CS/77/2, the court ruled that the General Council of the Bar has many members and An amendment of the RPC cannot be by an individual.
