According to Musa Nuhu, Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Emirates Airline will soon resume flight operations in and out of Nigeria (NCAA).
On Monday, it was revealed.
Mr Nuhu said there were continuing negotiations with the airline and that the result would be revealed over the next 48 hours at the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) national briefing on COVID-19 in Abuja.
The Nigerian government barred the airline from operating in the country in March 2021 due to its inability to fly passengers without first undergoing a pre-boarding rapid diagnostic examination (RDTs).
“With respect to Emirates Airline’s resumption of flights to Nigeria, the PSC deliberated widely on this matter, and the distance between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been substantially closed,” he said.
Mr Nuhu also stated that international flights between Port Harcourt and Enugu will resume shortly.
“The PTF has announced three airports, Kano, Port Harcourt, and Enugu, to resume international flights.
