Our correspondent reports that a Notary Public is a public officer appointed to serve as an impartial witness in the execution of important legal documents and to help prevent fraud.
They are empowered to witness and authenticate signatures, administer oaths and affirmations, certify documents as true copies, attest to affidavits and statutory declarations, and notarize legal, commercial, and official documents.
Notarization confers legal credibility and public trust on documents, particularly in relation to court processes, property transactions, powers of attorney, and international or official filings.
