I join millions of Nigerians, the Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria and members of the Nigerian Bar Association to celebrate this great festival of sacrifice, a commemoration of the love, sacrifice, faith, mercy and redemption of the noble Prophet Ibrahim (AS), whose great attributes earned him the unrivaled place of the father of the two great religions – Islam and Christianity.
When confronted by religious division, hate and intolerance, we need to look no further than to the sacrificial example of this great Prophet to realize, that we are not just fellow citizens, friends and neighbors, but indeed brothers and sisters. What unites us is far more than the little divergence that we may have.
May the unity, peace, faith, mercy and blessings of this commemorative Eid abide by all of our members – Muslims and Christians and our families, as we all celebrate yet another Eid Al-Adha.
