A female Development Centre Coordinator of Ngbo Central in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Mrs. Blessing Adagba, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

Since the incident, palpable fear and tension have gripped the residents.

There have been a series of security challenges, ranging from cultism, killings, and wanton destruction of valuable properties, to the abduction of innocent citizens by gunmen, among others, that are bedeviling the Ohaukwu LGA.

It was gathered that the female Development Centre Coordinator was abducted in the early hours of Thursday in her community.

When contacted, the Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joshua Ukandu, confirmed the abduction.

He explained that the Anti-Kidnapping Squad is actively working to secure the immediate release of the victim.

Community eyewitnesses revealed that the abduction took place around midnight in Okposhi Eheku in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, stressed that, “Around 12 a.m., a group of men disguised as soldiers invaded the residence of Blessing Adagba. They demanded she open the door, but she refused, questioning why soldiers would come at such an hour.”

It was gathered that the victim had to surrender and open the door for them when the kidnappers brandished firearms and started shooting.

It was further gathered that stakeholders and security operatives in Ohaukwu are reportedly mobilizing to ensure that the victim is rescued unharmed.
