The Department of State Services has dismissed 115 personnel as part of ongoing internal reforms within the agency.

In a statement posted on X on Tuesday, the service said the affected officers were disengaged over a period of time, warning the public against dealing with former operatives still parading themselves as serving DSS officials.

“As part of the ongoing reforms in the Department of State Services, the public is hereby informed that a total of 115 personnel have been dismissed over a period,” the statement read.

The agency cautioned that, despite earlier disclaimers issued on two dismissed operatives — Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin — some former staff continue to pose as active personnel to defraud unsuspecting individuals.

“Members of the public are therefore advised to desist from any official dealing with these individuals who have been dismissed by the service,” it added.

The DSS noted that the identities of the dismissed personnel had been published on its website for clarity.

In October, the service had issued disclaimers on Donald and Godwin, who were alleged to have used the agency’s name to defraud citizens. Both men have been arrested and will be prosecuted, according to the DSS.
