The Chief Judge of Katsina State, Justice Musa Danladi-Abubakar, has warned youths in the state to steer clear of cybercrime, stressing that offenders risk a minimum of four years’ imprisonment.
He issued the warning on Wednesday in Katsina during the graduation of 75 youths who completed a three-day training on the positive use of mobile phones, organised by the Katsina Vocational Training Centre.
Danladi-Abubakar explained that cybercrime cases brought before the court require no defence, as evidence easily establishes the offence. He advised youths to use their phones responsibly for business, learning, and knowledge acquisition instead of indulging in criminal activities online.
“This training is a golden opportunity. I urge you to apply the knowledge gained and extend it to your communities,” he said.
