Court remands man for allegedly impersonating police officers in Kano

A Kano Magistrates’ Court has remanded two men, including one accused of impersonating a police officer, for allegedly causing public disturbance and engaging in criminal activities in the Ja’en area of Gwale local government.

The primary suspect, Usman Isa, is alleged to have falsely presented himself as a police officer in order to deceive and abuse members of the public. His accomplice, Umar Tijjani, was arraigned for offenses bordering on conspiracy, trespass, theft, and destruction of property.

Both defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Presiding Magistrate, Mustapha Abba Dandago adjourned the case to August 29, 2025 and ordered their remand in a correctional facility pending further hearing.
