The criminal trial of Pastor Sunday Ogbogho of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) at the Magistrates’ Court, Asaba, has been adjourned till November 7, 2025, following the absence of the police prosecutor, Mr. Alex Ibe.

Pastor Ogbogho is standing trial for allegedly assaulting journalist Kenneth Orusi with tools, including a spanner, and inflicting head injuries as well as a human bite during an incident on July 27, 2025.

He was arraigned before Magistrate Court 4, Asaba, on August 11, 2025, over the attack on Orusi, who resides at No. 5 Elder Ediale Street, off Ibusa Road, in the Delta State capital.

The case, filed under Case No. 367/2025, is being prosecuted by Mr. Ibe on behalf of the police. The charge accuses Ogbogho of assault occasioning harm, an offence contrary to Section 355 of the Criminal Code, which prescribes punishment for such conduct.

At the sitting, however, the prosecutor was absent, forcing the presiding magistrate to adjourn proceedings until November 7, 2025, for continuation of the hearing.
