The Lagos Branch of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria is set to hold its Annual Law Week from Tuesday, October 31 to Friday, November 3, 2023.
According to a press statement made available to NEWSWIRE Law and Events Magazine, the event, which is scheduled for the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, will discuss the theme, ‘Gender-Based Violence: Stemming The Tide.’
Uchenna Nwadialo, the lead for Media and Publicity, who disclosed this on Monday, September 28, 2023, noted that this year’s programme aligns with the United Nations 2023 International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, an occasion which, she says, provides an ideal opportunity to further campaigns and activities aimed at achieving their objectives.
FIDA, a non-governmental, non-religious, non-political, and not-for-profit voluntary association of women lawyers in Nigeria, focuses on promoting, protecting, and preserving the rights and well-being of women, children, and vulnerable individuals in society.
The Law Week Planning Committee has also outlined the event schedule for the 2023 FIDA Lagos Law Week, which is expected to be graced by key stakeholders and eminent personalities, and offer engaging and intellectually fulfilling activities.
Barrister Adanna C. Madu, who is the Chairperson of the Law Week, assured members of a packed schedule of activities.
The schedule includes interactive sessions on Day One; the Annual General Meeting on Day Two; Charity Visitations on Day Three. Day Four will feature the grand finale, the Law Week Dinner (which is themed ‘Royal Emerald’). The Law Week Dinner is set to take place at the prestigious Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
