Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State has said he can’t hand over to an unintelligent person.
Obaseki said this during the Peoples Democratic Party’s campaign in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of the State to canvass votes for the party’s candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, in the September 21 election.
He stated that the PDP has fielded the best candidate for the election and urged the public to vote based on credibility and competence.
Obaseki highlighted that his administration has implemented reforms in education, agriculture, sports, technology, health, and other sectors.
“These achievements would be jeopardized if entrusted to someone who is unintelligent, inexperienced, or incompetent, whose sole objective in power is to distribute the people’s resources among the political elite.”
“We have transformed the education sector through the EdoBEST programme and appointed your daughter to lead the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB). We cannot hand over EdoBEST to individuals lacking intelligence.”
On his part, Ighodalo charged the electoral umpire on free, fair, and credible polls in the State.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said he will support free, fair and credible elections as he is a democrat that believes in the credible process,” he said.
