The Kaduna State branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has condemned the attack on worshipers at a Sunday service, as well as the kidnapping and killing of a medical doctor and another person in the state.
In a tweet, State Secretary Rev. Caleb Ma’aji regretted the insecurity in Kaduna, saying it was saddening that the crisis had worsened.
“Our hearts are distressed by the sorry state of protection in our beloved state (Kaduna State).
”This has been too unfortunate, and it appears to get worse every day, with no discernible opposition to the unholy jihadists who have kept our dear state and country hostage.
“On April 25, 2021, innocent worshipers who went out for no reason other than to worship and pray to God were targeted, a medical doctor and one other person were killed, several members were wounded, and some were kidnapped.”
“This is happening in a country that requires freedom of worship, but that freedom is not guaranteed,” May lamented.
According to the Christian organization, it is unclear what the crime of ordinary people is, and why criminals claim to be more free and safe than citizens.
“Our hearts go out to the Manini local church, the Nigeria Baptist Convention, and the deceased’s family members,” CAN said.
It urged relevant authorities to investigate the attack and prayed for the safe rescue of the kidnapped survivors, as well as all other people held captive.
CAN also urge all men and women of goodwill to wake up and do the right thing before the ongoing evil of banditry and kidnapping, which has hijacked the world, especially in Kaduna State, consumes all.
