The Registrar General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Hussaini Ishaq Magaji has pledged to support and ensure a seamless registration process for all foreign organisations seeking to do business in Nigeria.
Magaji stated this Friday in Abuja when he received the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Malaria Consortium (MC), Professor Wilfred Mbacham, on a courtesy call to his office.
He noted the Commission’s strategic position as the gateway for doing business in Nigeria and assured proper guidance and support to such organisations to enable them to realise their objectives in line with the provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA 2020).
Speaking earlier, Mbacham said he was in Nigeria and particularly the CAC to offer no objection to the registration of its Nigerian counterpart.
He, therefore, sought the Commission’s support in that regard to ensure that the charity organisation impacts positively on Nigeria’s health sector.
In his comment, Dr. Kolawole Maxwell, Director of Programmes, Africa, Malaria Consortium, described the organisation as a United Kingdom non-governmental organisation with the mission of saving lives and improving health in Africa & Asia through evidence-based programs that combat targeted diseases and promote universal health coverage.
Since it commenced work in Nigeria in 2008, it has recruited over 5,000 staff and operates in 17 states and still counting, Kolawole Maxwell added.
He further revealed that its support to the government at all levels has been witnessed in Kano, Bauchi, Katsina, and Osun, among others.
He, therefore, sought the Commission’s support in the registration of Malaria and Public Health Nigeria as a Limited by Guarantee LTD/GTE as a Malaria Consortium’s Nigerian entity as contained in a statement by the Media Section, CAC made available to Journalists in Bauchi on Friday.
