Bisi Makanjuola has been elected the new Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Lagos Branch, following the announcement of results at the recent conclusion of the Lagos Bar elections a few moments ago. He will replace outgoing Chairman, Ikechukwu Uwanna at the helm of the Premier Bar Branch.
NEWSWIRE Law and Events Magazine correspondent in Lagos reports that Makanjuola gained a majority of votes to prevail over his close rivals, Olumayowa Owolabi and Adebola Lema in the Chairmanship race.
The election also produced other winners, who, along with Makanjuola, would make up the next Executive Committee of the Branch. They are:
– Esther Ifeoma Jimoh (Vice Chairperson-elect);
– Muobo Majemite(Secretary-elect);
– Oyindamola Chinelo Fasakin (Social Secretary-elect);
– Omoniyi Onabule (Publicity Secretary-elect);
– Bennita Nneka Olejeme (Financial Secretary-elect);
– Adeola Olabamiji (Assistant Secretary-elect);
– Olaide Oluwayomi Ajewole (Welfare Secretary-elect);
– Ono Frances (Treasurer-elect); and
– Ali Jubril (Provost-elect).
