The Governor, who appreciated lawmakers in the sixth and seventh assemblies for their contributions to the state, stressed that the All Progressives Congress remained a winning party in Kogi State.
“There is a need to activate the spirit of tolerance, irrespective of religion, tribe or political affiliations,” he added.In his valedictory speech, the outgoing Speaker, Matthew Kolawole, said the Assembly lost two members during their tenure.
He gave the names of the deceased as John Abba of Ibaji Constituency and Jimoh Omiata of Yagba East State Constituency.
He appreciated the lawmakers for their support towards ensuring the success of the seventh assembly, noting that 1,451 resolutions were made while and 688 regular motions were passed by the House.He added that the Assembly passed 52 bills, 32 which were executive bills while 20 were private members bills.
