One of the closing highlights of the 2022 Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association’s Section on Legal Practice was the Young Litigators’ Debate, which considered the topic: “Young Lawyers’ Declining Interest in Legal Practice: Myth or Reality?”
NEWSWIRE Law and Events Magazine’s correspodent in Asaba reports that the debate, which was overseen by a Panel of Judges chaired by Hon. Onome Marshall-Umukoro of the High Court of Delta State, pitted two young lawyers from the Delta State delegation in the NBA against two of their counterparts from the rest of the country. It was a display of intellectual fireworks from both sides around a surprisingly topical issue with far-reaching ramifications for the future of legal practice in Nigeria.
At the end of the Debate, various prizes were awarded to the contestants for their sterling performance by the Chairman of the SLP and other key officials of the Section and the CPC.
