the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has engaged with his Lagos counterpart, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, over allegations of deporting Osun indigenes to the Ilesa area.
Additionally, Adeleke has called on Sanwo-Olu to address the situation promptly.
According to Adeleke’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, an investigation team confirmed eyewitness accounts of luxury buses dropping off hundreds of young individuals in different Ilesa locations over the weekend.
Moreover, the team suspected the individuals were rounded up from various parts of Lagos State.
“The state team reported that eyewitness accounts confirmed the dropping of the youths in several luxurious buses by a team suspected to be from Lagos State,” the statement read.
Furthermore, it detailed the specific locations where the youths were allegedly dropped off.

In his interaction with Governor Sanwo-Olu, Adeleke expressed shock and urged him to investigate the matter if the report is accurate. As quoted, “Governor Sanwoolu has promised an immediate investigation to unravel the facts of the situation.”
Consequently, Adeleke has directed security agencies in Osun to monitor and track the deported youths and their destinations.
“I am subsequently directing our security agencies in Osun to mount surveillance in and around Ilesa to track the deported youths and their destinations,” he stated.
While promising to keep residents informed, Adeleke urged them to remain calm as surveillance proceeds. Ultimately, the situation highlights the need for effective communication and cooperation between state governments to address such allegations promptly.
