The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 19-year-old Mohammed Umar, a resident of Abuja Road, Yola South Local Government Area for dressing and disguising as a woman.
The command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Ngoruje, in a statement on Wednesday, noted that the man was loitering within the Ngurore Lutheran Church of Christ Nigeria premises.
“The arrest follows a report by a resident (name withheld) to the Ngurore Divisional Police Headquarters, after observing the suspect’s movement within the premises of the church.”
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police Adamawa State, Dankombo Morris, has directed that the case should be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yola, for discreet and full-scale investigation.
“The command remains committed to ensuring public safety, and public order and encourages residents to keep vigilant and give timely reports of suspicious movement to the police,” it stated.
