The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has issued an update regarding its planned indefinite industrial action scheduled for Friday, November 21.
The union, in a statement on its X account on Friday, said there was no official declaration of the strike action.
Recall that three days ago, ASUU threatened to shut down all Nigerian public universities over unmet demands by the federal government.
Speaking on the official declaration of the strike action, ASUU wrote, “To whom it may concern, no official declaration of strike has been made.”
ASUU had earlier rejected the government’s 35 per cent salary increment.
In October, the union had suspended its warning strike to negotiate with the federal government over its demands.
