In a new twist to the leadership crisis roiling the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), High Court in Abia State has dismissed a motion for an interim injunction seeking to nullify the suspension of the General Secretary of the Association, Lady Joyce Oduah, pending the determination of the substantive suit.
It will be recalled that an associate and supporter of the suspended scribe, one Victor Nwaugo, had filed an action at the Abia State High Court some days ago, in which he challenged the NBA’s action against the GS.
Oduah had also filed an earlier action at the Federal High Court in Abuja in which she sought the same orders, namely, to set aside her suspension by the body’s Executive Committee on charges of misconduct and dereliction of duty.
