Dear elders, officers and members of the NBA Abuja Branch (The Unity Bar), led by the indefatigable Chairman, Mr Moses Ebute SAN, on this auspucious occasion of your 2022 Law week, I bring you greetings from NBA Zaria.
Law weeks are usually a great time for branches to come together to discuss issues which impact on the nation and the legal profession and I am elated that you have put together an event with a powerful theme: “Credible Electoral Process, Rule of Law, Leadership and Good Governance: The Way Forward.”
I give kudos to the branch and particularly the planning committee for this wonderful theme as the issues therein are what we need to interrogate as the electoral season is in full sway.
A Credible Electoral Process at this time when the nation is bleeding, cannot be overemphasized as only a credble process will give birth to the wishes and aspirations of the people. The supremacy of the Rule of Law, of good Leadership and Good Governance are all pertinent issues to be interrogated as these are issues that will ensure that the people enjoy the dividends of democracy. We must interrogate, insist on and indeed find the best way forward to establish these issues I am therefore pleased that the NBA Abuja branch has taken this theme head on to discuss at the law week.
I await the resolutions from this event as I am certain they will be robust and will proffer credible solutions.
