The All Progressives Congress (APC) primary for the House of Representatives in the Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency was on Friday marred by violence.

Following the fracas which rocked the primary, the exercise was put on hold for a few hours before its processes resumed.

When 83 delegates out of 100 delegates voted at the Premier Hotel in Igbara-Oke, Ifedore Local Government Area of the state, the primary was disrupted.

Tajudeen Adefisoye, who is currently representing the federal constituency, Bamidele Oloyelogun, the state House of Assembly Speaker, and Moshood Bakare are the candidates.

The state House of Assembly Speaker, Oleyelogun, who is also a candidate, has accused Adefisoye’s agent of beating his agent, claiming that the primary should be called off.

According to the electoral officer for the primary, Taiwo Akeju, “out of 100 delegates, 83 had voted and there was a lacuna which we have to solve.”

“And all the aspirants cooperated with us. We have counted it and the interim result is with us. We will write our result and the national leadership will take it up there.

“From the interim result, Hon. Bamidele Oloyelogun got 3 votes, Bakare 6, Adefisoye 70 votes while four votes are voided.”
