The Yenagoa Branch of the NBA is set to hold their 2022 Law Week spanning between 25th and 29th of May, 2022. The opening ceremony is billed for the 27th May, 2022 under the distinguished Chairmanship of His Lordship, Hon. Kate Abiri, CON.
Ede Asenoguan Esq., Past Chairman of Benin Branch has sent in a goodwill message ahead of this event. His message is reproduced below:
“Profound greetings to the Chairman, Executives and Members of the Yenagoa Branch,
Permit me to convey my regards to your branch especially on the occasion of your forthcoming Law Week.
Your Law Week is highly anticipated as same has been carefully planned out with the thought provoking theme: ‘Building a Strong Judiciary’ and the attendant topics therein example of which is the paper presentation titled: ‘Nullification of Executive Order 10 and its implication in the quest for Judicial Financial Autonomy’.
We cannot overemphasize the point that a nation as fragile as ours needs a strong Judiciary in reshaping its future and one of the major pointers to a strong judiciary is financial autonomy, where does the nullification leave us?
I am confident that at the end of the program, answers will be proffered to this poser and we will take home points to assist in achieving our collective goal of building the judiciary.
