Today, the 17th day of March, 2022, the National Executive Council of the Nigerian Bar Association(NBA-NEC), held an emergency meeting to resolve on pressing issues concerning the Association. Among the issues discussed are :
- The NBA Remuneration Committee Report
- The NBA Electoral Committee Budget
- The Legal Practitioners’ Act (LPA) Amendment Bill
- The Legal Practitioners’ Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) Rules 2020
- The Report from the NBA Special Investigator regarding the Raid on Justice Mary Odili’s residence by security Agents among other issues.
The meeting which held at the National Secretariat of the NBA in Abuja was attended by NEC from all branches of the NBA.
On account of the meeting, Mr Ede Asenoguan sent in a goodwill message to the NBA President, his Executive team and all NEC members who attended, commending them for holding fast the well-being of the Association and doing everything within its power to take it to greater heights.
His words:
“The just concluded emergency meeting of the NBA NEC held today further points us to the progressional direction the present Executives are taking the Association. The issues discussed and resolutions reached therein are those which touch on the soul of the Association. It is worthy of commendation that the present ably led NBA Executives are not resting on its oars in ensuring the progress of the Association.
I am in no doubt that the resolutions reached today will further strengthen the fabrics of the NBA. I wish all delegates safe journey back to their respective destinations.
