On January 9th 2022, Vice President Osinbajo , was at Azare, Bauchi to grace the wedding ceremony of former Ms. Fatima Adamu, (the daughter of Mallam Adamu Adamu, the Education Minister).
While in Azare, in the Katagum Emirate Council of Bauchi State, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo erroneously and ludicrously noted that the roll call of guests at the said wedding event is evidence of Nigeria’s indivisibility.
Amongst the dignitaries present at the event werethe Senate President, Ahmed Lawan; Governors Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi; Babagana Zulum of Borno; Mr Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti; Mohammed Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa; Simon Lalong of Plateau; Mai Mala Buni of Yobe and host, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi. Also the founding Chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande and National Leader of the party, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu .
The political class in Nigeria is one big family without any ideological , ethnic or religious barrier separating them when it comes to achieving their common interest of looting our common wealth and keeping the masses perpetually impoverished for easy manipulation . To achieve their goal they continue to play on the emotions and sensibility of the Nigerian masses using religion and ethnicity as tools.
When the want to score cheep political points , they play on the ethnic and religious sentiments of the masses . When any of them is falling out of rating and he needs some relevance or needs the votes of the Nigerian masses to capture a political office, he would play on their guillibity by using ethnicity and religion as a veritable tool . Like chameleon the Nigerian politicians have the capacity to change colour any time, any how and any where for their survival . Which is why Vice President Oshinbajo is able to see the gathering of the political heavy weights at the said marriage ceremony and reassured himself that Nigeria is indivisible and truly a united country and that nothing can separate this country not ethnicity or religion or class.
If the gathering together of people is a good barometer to test the indivisibility of Nigeria, what about the gathering of the Nigerian masses? Can Mr VP confidently say that he is not aware that the people of Nigeria have never been so divided as they are today because of the seed of hate , discord and suspicion sowed in them by the politicians ?
How can Mr VP forget so soon that his host , governor Bala Muhammed defended his ethnic group militias unlawful use of AK 47 on other helpless and defenceless. How come Mr . VP forgot so soon that his host prefers his kits and kins outside Nigeria to his compatriots, claiming that the people of his ethnic group who are not Nigerian citizens are a global/African citizen and as such Nigerians should accept them as Nigerians and take it as part of their heritage as a country. Is Mr. VP feigning ignorance that he is not aware that in Nigeria today the president prefers Nigerians of the same religion and ethnic group with him to other Nigerians of other ethnic groups and religion?
Is the V P pretending not to know that there are two different laws for two different set of people in Nigeria today ? In Nigeria , based on religious and ethnic biases a set of Nigerians have the right to kill others and will be forgiven , compensated and reintegrated into the society without any consideration for their victims . In Nigeria today a particular ethnic group in the country have the right to destroy others farms and property, rape others wives and children , kidnapp and demand for ransom without any consequence . Can Mr VP turn a blind eye to the fact that in Nigeria today for clannish, ethnic and religious sentiments our politicians in the North refuse to speak up and stand on the right path of truth , justice , equity and good conscience when it comes to the senseless ethnic cleansing going on in Nigeria .
What do you make of it when politicians brain wash their people telling them that God gave Nigeria and describing other ethnic groups as minorities and infidels? Can the VP deny that the politicians including himself do not play the ethnic , religion and class card ?
Look at the government today, practically all heads of institutions, parastatals , corporations , agencies fat and juicy positions in Nigeria are headed by people of the same religious faith with the president of Nigeria and from the North . They are in charge of the Army, the Nigeria Police Force , the Nigeria Customs Service, : Nigeria Immigration Service ,Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps , Federal Road Safety Corps , Economic and Financial Crime Commission, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation , Nigerian Postal Service etc, So now tell me where is the federal character principle as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution that requires that there is ‘no predominance of persons from a few states or from a few ethnic or other sectional groups’ in the federal government and its agencies? So tell me , where is the equality, fairness and justice in Nigeria under this clannish and bigotry administration?
