Maina’s son, Faisal, bags 14 years for money laundering

A Federal High Court in Abuja has convicted Faisal, son of a former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina, and sentenced him to 14 years in prison on charges of money laundering.In a judgment on Thursday, Okon Abang found Faisal guilty on the three-count money laundering charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Justice Abang held among others, that the prosecution effectively discharged the burden placed on it by law to prove the offences charged beyond a reasonable doubt.
