Nigerian Military Suffered Loses in Mainok After Boko Haram Attack

The Nigerian military suffered several losses in the ISWAP terrorist attack in Mainok, Borno State, on Sunday.

After troops and Nigerian Air Force (NAF) jets foiled Boko Haram terrorist attacks, the number of casualties is still unclear.

After attacking Mainok, the rebels allegedly rode in scores of gun trucks and tried to overrun a military base.

“They tried to seize a military base via Dogon Karfe in Mainok but ran into strong opposition from the tenacious ground troops before the arrival of the NAF Jets,” a military source revealed.

Some terrorists are reportedly stranded inside Mainok town due to airstrikes, he said.

According to the author, NAF jets were unable to launch several missiles and had to hover in the air for hours to prevent collateral harm.

When they saw the military jets, some ISWAP fighters fled to Mainok primary school and set fire to a police station in anger.

Many who managed to flee made their way to their camp along the Lawan Mainari axis.

The assault came after a bloody fight in Yobe’s Geidam, Kumuya, and Buni Gari.
The National Air Force (NAF) has launched ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) platforms into the sky.
