MATCH DAY 3 OF THE NBA LAGOS BRANCH’S PREMIER BAR FOOTBALL LEAGUE SET AGOG WITH GOALS AND UPSETS

    As expected, Match Day 3 of the ongoing NBA Lagos Branch’s Premier Bar League lived up to expectations. There were so many fireworks, goals, upsets, and intriguing moments.

    The weekend was filled with thrilling matches, and here’s a rundown of each encounter:

    TASAFRICA 1 v Mercury FC 0

    In a tightly contested match, TASAFRICA edged out Mercury FC 1-0. Despite making many saves in the match, Innocent, Mercury FC’s goalkeeper, couldn’t keep the clean sheet. A well-taken goal from TASAFRICA’s Nnaemeka secured the win.

    YLF 2 v YLP 1

    In the derby of the match tagged “Young lawyers battle,” YLF came out on top against YLP in a 2-1 win. YLF’s attack spearheaded by Jackson was too strong for YLP’s defence, scoring two crucial goals. YLP’s consolation goal and knly goal of the tournament was scored by the veteran, Mr Olawale.

    As it stands, YLP is yet to get a win in the tournament and sits at the bottom of Group A with 0 point.

    Unilawrin Alumni 3 v Islanders FC 0

    In a twist of fate and against expectations, Unilawrin Alumni dominated Islanders FC with a convincing 3-0 win. The victory reignited their hope for qualification in Group A. Their midfield was in top form, controlling the tempo of the game and creating chances left, right, and centre. Islanders FC struggled to cope with Unilawrin Alumni’s firepower upfront, lled by Shehu Popoola.

    LawBallers FC 3 v Unilawrin United FC 1

    LawBallers FC secured a commanding 3-1 victory over Unilawrin United FC. LawBallers FC’s attack was too strong, with Nonso Nweke scoring the three goals.

    Wigwe and Partners FC 1 v Welfare 0

    Wigwe and Partners FC continued their impressive run in the tournament by edging out Welfare FC by a lone goal.

    Grey FC 0 v Tiger Bar FC 1

    The stat match kf the day produced the major upset dor the day. Tiger Bar FC edged out the defendjng champions, Grey FC, with a 1-0 win. Tiger FC scored an early goal in the 2nd minutes, and every attempt by Grey FC to come back into the game was rebuffed, with brilliant performance by Tiger Bar FC goalkeeper.

    The next round of matches will be interesting as the battle for the top 4 of each group begins to take shape.

    The next round of matches will be held on December 14, 2025, at Lagos Preparatory School, Ikoyi at 2pm.
