One of Nigeria’s foremost commercial lawyers and the pioneer Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association’s Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL), Mr. George Etomi, has been named as the Guest Lecturer at this year’s annual Fellows Lecture and Conferment of Honorary Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS).
In a statement made available to NEWSWIRE Law Events Magazine, the management of the Institute disclosed that the event, slated for Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, FCT, under the distinguished Chairmanship of the Rt. Hon. Umaru Abdullahi, CON, FNIALS (who is also the Chairman of the Institute’s Body of Fellows) will explore the topic, ‘LAW, POLITICS & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: NIGERIA AT A CROSSROADS.’
The statement adds that the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister for Justice, Hon. Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, FNIALS, is expected to be the Guest of Honour, while the Chief Guest of Honour at the occasion will be the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, GCON, FNIALS.
Etomi’s highly-anticipated presentation is expected to draw from his vast legal expertise and long experience in operating at the nexus between the law, economics and state policy as far as commerce and industry are concerned.
