Providence Godfrey a Portharcourt based lawyer admitted to practice law in 2025 has emerged the winner of George Etomi Courtroom Mail Business Law Prize 2025.
In the history of the competition, she will be the youngest to win the Prize in terms of age at the bar having won it just few months after her call to Bar.
The competition named after George Etomi, the first Chairman of NBA Section on Business Law ( NBA- SBL) and a leading business Lawyer in Nigeria began in 2019 to promote the knowledge of businesss law among young lawyers in Nigeria.
This year’s competition took place in three stages over a period of one month testing the knowledge of participants on the Startup Act, winding up and the Securities and Exchange Commission .
She will receive the sum of N350, 000.00 ( Three hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira) in Prize money.
She will be joing other winners of George Etomi Courtroom Mail Business Law Prize in the hall of fame namely:

2020- Ridwan Badmus
2021- Chinonso Nnabuisi
2022- Chinonso Nnabuisi( won twice)
2023: Robert Idigu
2024: Victoria Salami
