Adamawa police launch investigation into alleged attack on POS operator

The Adamawa State Police Command has begun investigating a violent robbery in Ngurore after a press release from the Command confirmed that 25 year-old POS operator Akwarakiram Abel was severely injured during an early morning attack.

According to the statement signed by the PPRO, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje for the Commissioner of Police, the incident occurred on Friday between three and four in the morning, when unidentified men armed with dangerous weapons entered the victim’s home in Sabon Pegi, Ngurore, in Yola South.

The attackers were said to have assaulted Abel and robbed him of his belongings.

The statement noted that the intruders used a cutlass during the assault, causing injuries that led to the amputation of his hand.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, directed the Criminal Investigation Department to commence a thorough investigation aimed at identifying and arresting those responsible.

He assured residents that the Command remains committed to protecting lives and property across Adamawa and would ensure justice is served.
