Vice President Kashim Shettima has jetted out to Johannesburg, South Africa to represent President Bola Tinubu at the G20 Leaders’ Summit.
This was contained in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, on Friday in Abuja.
This followed President Tinubu’s earlier postponement of his trip due to the recent wave of insecurity in the country.
The president is said to be awaiting further security briefings on the recent security incidents in Kebbi and Kwara states.
It will be recalled that South African President and current President of the G20 group, Cyril Ramaphosa had invited Tinubu to take part in the 2025 edition of the summit.
DAILY POST reports that the summit, scheduled to take place from Saturday, November 22nd, to Sunday, November 23rd, at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, brings together leaders from the world’s top 20 economies, including the European Union, the African Union and financial institutions, among others.
