Miss Jamaica, Dr. Gabrielle Henry, has been hospitalised after stumbling and falling off the stage during the Miss Universe preliminary evening gown competition in Thailand.
The incident occurred on Wednesday as the Jamaican representative walked across the runway in a flowing orange gown.
A viral video circulating on social media shows the moment Henry lost her footing and fell off the stage, prompting immediate concern from organisers and spectators.
Another clip from the event captured the beauty queen being carried out of the venue on a stretcher before being transported for medical attention.
Confirming the development, the Miss Universe Organisation said in a statement on Wednesday that Henry is currently receiving care at Paolo Rangsit Hospital in Thailand.
Miss Universe President, Raúl Rocha Cantú, who visited her at the hospital, said, “Henry sustained minor wounds. She is receiving treatment at a hospital in Bangkok, where she will remain under observation overnight.”
