Treating Cancer With Panadol – The Nigerian Government Position on Christian Genocide By Ambassador Lilian Onoh

    0

If a doctor were to tell a patient with a fast growing malignant brain tumour that they were suffering from a mild headache and recommended taking two tablets of Panadol three times daily, that doctor would be guilty of gross malpractice. Secondly, the patient will surely die a very painful death.

This is exactly what the Nigerian government’s position on Christian genocide is – treating malignant cancer with Panadol.

It is because of the refusal of successive governments to own up to the fact that a certain segment of Nigeria started re-enacting Usman Dan Fodio’s Jihad as soon as Nigeria transited to Civilian rule in 1999, that Nigeria is statistically the most dangerous country in the world to be a Christian – accounting for over 89% of all killings of Christians GLOBALLY in 2023. If that is not genocide, then what is it?

So let us try to put a starting point to when being a Christian in Nigerian became an existential threat.

It certainly was not during the IBB or Abacha or Abdulsallam regimes. In fact, General Abacha famously said that any insecurity lasting more than 24 hours had to have the Military’s involvement.

We can, in fact, trace it back to October 1999, less than five months after the transition to Civilian rule, when the Governors of Zamfara State and 11 other muslim majority states decided to impose Sharia Law as a tool to frustrate Obasanjo for daring to be a Southern Christian after they had successfully schemed out General Jeremiah Useni (a Middle-Belt Christian) from succeeding General Sani Abacha – a Moslem from Kano State. At this point in time, Nigeria had been ruled by Moslems since 1979 (excluding Ernest Shonekan’s two and a half month “tenure”) – i.e. twenty successive years.

And thus, Boko Haram was born, formed by the touts imported to enforce Islamic domination of Nigeria to spite the Christian Obasanjo in Abuja. By their own admission, all these Sharia Governors had dealings with this terrorist organisation, deliberately causing the current state of Islam v. Christian division for personal political gain.

Then they unleashed the deliberate misdiagnosis of the genocidal activities of these killers into the media space, with successive governments acquiescing until the lie became the National position: Farmer/Herder conflict- a narrative helped along by lazy/complicit international media who were willing to go along with the “climate change” narrative in furtherance of their own agenda.

Once Goodluck Jonathan (Christian) took over from the dead Yar’Adua, (a Moslem), the fury of those who declared they were “born to rule” reached the stratosphere; and to bring him down, the diabolical plot to kidnap over three hundred innocent Christian schoolgirls was hatched and executed in 2014. The Governor who ordered the schoolgirls to return to school after President Jonathan had ordered schools to shut down due to insecurity, is now Nigeria’s vice President.

More than 100 of these school girls remain in the hands of the world’s largest open paedophile gang over eleven years after they kidnapped, raped and converted into child sex slaves. Buhari pledged to “bring back our girls” immediately if he were elected instead of Jonathan. He ruled for 8 years and died without fulfilling his pledge. In fact, the kidnap of the Christian Dapchi schoolgirls in 2018 by the same paedophiles took place under his watch. Leah Sharibu is still being held and molested by these beasts because she refused to renounce her faith in Jesus Christ. What sort of government cannot bring this child out of captivity and save her from the depravity of these paedophiles who keep her as a tool for psychological terrorism to show what they will do to any kidnap victim that refuses forced conversion to Islam?

For those who still deny the obvious, let me ask some very simple questions.

Is there a single Christian group that has ever kidnapped Moslem schoolgirls, engaged in mass rape of children and turned them into child sex slaves the way Boko Haram kidnapped the Chibok and Dapchi school girls as well as countless other schoolgirls in the world’s largest open paedophile operation? NO.

Has any Christian terrorist group kidnapped a Moslem 14 year old like Leah Sharibu and kept her as a sex slave because she refused to renounce Islam in favour of Christianity? NO.

Is there a Christian equivalent to Boko Haram, Fulani terrorists, ISIS, “Bandits”, ISWAP etc? None exists anywhere in the world but these Islamic terrorist groups are all headquartered in Nigeria, with “repentant” members being given millions of Naira and reintegrated into the armed forces whilst their victims remain in IDP camps without any compensation or care from the State.

Is there any Christian equivalent to the murder of Deborah Samuels by Moslem students who stoned her and burnt her whilst she was still alive just because she gave our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ the glory for passing her exams on her WhatsApp group chat? NO.

Did a single one of her murderers, who even shared the videos they took of themselves killing her, ever go to jail? The answer is No. In fact, 300 Moslem lawyers stormed the police station to bail the murderers as soon as a few of them were arrested. They were never even arraigned. They are all free and one day, I am sure some of them will become Commissioners, Federal Ministers, Emirs, even Chief of Army/Defence Staff or God forbid, Governors or presidential candidates.

Is there a Christian equivalent to the murder of Gideon Akaluka in Kano in the 1990s, who was dragged out of the Police station where he was being held for his own safety, beheaded in front of policemen with crude cutlasses and had his bloodied head paraded by the mob all around Kano city because his neighbour – his neighbour! – was accused by a groundnut seller of desecrating an abandoned Koran after the neighbour, an Igbo woman, refused to buy her groundnuts? Did anybody get arrested for this murder, despite the gruesome pictures of the blood-thirsty murderers carrying Akaluka’s battered head on a stake being on the front pages of various newspapers and magazines? No. No. No.

In fact, I can speak of own firsthand experience from 2010. My senior Moslem colleague at the Nigerian High Commission in London, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye (now President Tinubu’ adviser on Foreign Affairs) was so entitled to this murderous behaviour that he threatened to lie to Moslems in London that I had insulted their prophet so they could declare a Fatwa against me. And what was my offense? I told him he was out of order when he made a crude, vile comment accusing late Pope Benedict XVI of having a homosexual partner in a staff meeting, and when I protested this sacrilegious, unconscionable abuse of the Pontiff, he threatened to beat me up in front of over 30 witnesses. When I wrote a report about the incident, he issued the threat that he would lie that I had insulted the Islamic prophet in order to have Moslems in London kill me off. No Christian can make an equivalent threat.

When murder becomes the entitlement of a particular group, then genocide must follow. It does not require rocket science to adduce this. But each death in the overall statistics of genocide represent individuals, whose lives, loves, joys and pain are wiped out because of the religious entitlement of the other party to do so.

If someone who was a level 17 special grade officer – ambassadorial rank – could make such an open threat in LONDON, no less, imagine what advise he is currently giving President Tinubu as we speak. Imagine his advice when he was at the National War College or when he was Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Imagine if he becomes a political ambassador when new ambassadorial nominees are announced?

When the perpetrators are in charge of the investigation, would they ever admit guilt? Obviously, the answer is, “NO”.

When Femi Adesina, Buhari’s spokesman, told Christians that it was better to give up their ancestral land to the invading, murderous Fulani terrorists than lose their lives, he was stating the obvious fact that the entire apparatus of the state would back the Fulani killers whilst the official narrative of farmer/herder clashes and climate change were used to cover up the clear acts of genocide. That is the reality of continuing Christian genocide and the cover up narrative that the Government is still trying to push.

But that narrative is now dead and stinking. Nobody believes it anymore because the statistics (which are even under-estimates of the reality) prove it to be hogwash. With the advent of universal access to smart phones and the internet, trying to use propaganda as if we still live in 1940 disgraces those who still believe it will work.

And using the catch-all phrase, “Insecurity” to describe Nigeria’s current problem is like using the term, “Fever”, to describe a slew of maladies – flu, burst appendix, malaria, typhoid, Ebola, Covid-19, leukemia – all lethal but needing different sorts of treatment. Nigeria has opted to treat Ebola like a minor headache – two Panadol tablets three times a day.

The continued refusal to acknowledge the actual ailment – that Christians communities in Nigeria are being wiped out by Moslem invaders who then take over their ancestral homes, lands and churches – is the Government’s way of telling the world that they intend to do nothing and nothing will change.

It is telling the victims of this genocide, present and future, to make their own funeral arrangements and hope there will be survivors to put them in the mass graves awaiting them.

    That is an untenable position.
