The Oyo State Police Command has arrested an Islamic cleric, identified as Alfa Bashiru, for allegedly being in possession of suspected human flesh.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Adewale Osifeso, confirmed the arrest in a statement released via the Command’s official X handle on Wednesday.
When questioned, Bashiru allegedly confessed that he purchased the suspected human flesh in Lagos.
Osifeso noted that the case has been handed over to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Iyaganku, for a thorough probe.
“The recovered substance has been sent for forensic analysis to ascertain its authenticity and origin,” the police spokesperson stated.
