Four missing as canoe capsizes in Plateau’s fajul river

At least, four people are feared dead after a canoe accident in Fajul River, Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State.

According to Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred around 4 p.m. on September 10, when a canoe paddled by 35-year-old Nankpak Danladi capsized while ferrying four passengers to Wase.

“All four passengers whose identities are yet to be confirmed, drowned in the river,” a source said.

Following the report, security operatives in Langtang South mobilised local divers for a search-and-rescue operation. As of press time, no bodies had been recovered, though the search was ongoing.
