Ex-governors Peter Obi and Kayode Fayemi were among the guests at Pope Leo XIV’s inauguration mass in the Vatican, Rome

Pope Leo XIV was inaugurated as pontiff during a special mass in St Peter’s Square, signalling the start of his papacy.

Thousands of people gathered at the venue as Pope Leo XIV received his symbols of office. President Bola Tinubu was among the world leaders who were present.

Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, shared photos of himself and Fayemi at the event.
