Indian authorities have nabbed two Nigerians, Nnanyelugo Abasili, and Chigozie Ezekiel, for drug trafficking and invalid travel documents, respectively.
Abasili was arrested in a raid conducted by the Goa police crime branch at Parra on Friday.
According to the Times of India, the 23-year-old was apprehended with drugs estimated to be worth Rs 1.6 crore (approximately N301.12m).
The Crime branch Superintendent of Police, Rahul Gupta, said the Nigerian national was nabbed in a rented room.
Gupta said, “Crime branch seized narcotics from his possession, suspected to be 60g of cocaine, 99g of brown heroin, 1.1g ecstasy (2,400 tablets), 19g of crystal MDMA, and Rs 70,000 cash, altogether estimated to be worth Rs 1.6 crore.”
The Indian police said Abasili arrived in the country on April 28, 2025, and stayed on a student visa.
Meanwhile, Ezekiel, 24, was caught the following day alongside an Ivorian, Ismale Baba, 29, in the same neighbourhood without valid travel documents.
