Two Labour MPs have been deported after being denied entry to Israel.

They are Yuan Yang and Abtisam Mohamed.

The pair were rejected because they were suspected of plans to “document the activities of security forces and spread anti-Israel hatred”

This was disclosed in a statement from the Israeli immigration ministry.

Yang, who represents Earley and Woodley, and Mohamed, the MP for Sheffield Central, both flew to the Israel from Luton on Saturday.

However, according to a statement from the Israeli immigration ministry, the duo were accompanied by two assistants and during questioning, the MPs claimed they were visiting Israel “as part of an official parliamentary delegation”.

The ministry also branded their claim as “false”.
