Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke of a Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos State, has fixed March 14 and 21 for the trial of 11 Chinese nationals arraigned on Friday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over alleged cyberterrorism and fraud.

In a statement issued on its verified X account (formerly Twitter) on Friday, the EFCC said operatives of its Lagos Zonal Directorate arraigned the suspects on charges bordering on cyberterrorism, cybercrimes, possession of documents containing false pretence, advance fee fraud, and identity theft.

According to the EFCC, the accused persons are part of a group of 792 suspects apprehended during a raid on December 10, 2024, in Lagos, as part of an operation dubbed “Eagle Flush Operation.”

The defendants were identified as Li Niu, Xiao Qinyun, Fu Zheng Yang, Xiao Yi, Bei Bei Linde Jun, Li Hang, Huan Livo, Wang Wei, Tong Mo Ying, Gao Yang, Zebin Chen, and Yuan Zhibin.

However, they pleaded not guilty to the charges read by the prosecution counsels, Ahmed Yerima, F.S. Mohammed, A.M. Dambuwa, and N.C. Mutfwang.

In his ruling, Justice Aneke adjourned the matter till March 14, and ordered that the defendants be remanded at the Ikoyi and Kirikiri Correctional Centres.
