The Lagos State Judiciary has released new posting for Magistrates for the year 2024.
According to the Deputy Chief Registrar (Admin.), Rasaq O. Davies, the new posting takes effect from Monday, the 16″ day of December, 2024.
The posting instruction, contained in an attached schedule is to be strictly followed by all the Magistrates. The directive also includes specific instructions about the transfer process
- No Magistrate is permitted to remove any official items such as refrigerators, air conditioners, chairs and tables from their previous posting to their new court.
- Magistrates are required to take only personal effects to their new court.
- All part-heard matters, including part-heard trials and judgements yet to be delivered should be taken by the Magistrate to the new court.
- Fresh files and pending bail applications are to remain at the court where they commenced.
- Members of staff including Registrars, Clerks and Office Attendants attached to each court shall not accompany their Magistrate to their new court.
