True to his philanthropic character and his concern for the advancement of the Nigerian Bar and the welfare of its members, Chief Emeka Ozoani, SAN, foremost legal luminary and immediate past Chairman of the NBA National Welfare Committee, was at the Association’s branch in Bwari, in the Federal Capital Territory a few days ago. The aim of his visit was to felicitate with his learned brother silk, Paul Daudu, SAN, who currently serves as Chairman of the NBA Bwari branch.
NEWSWIRE’s Law Events Magazine’s correspondent reports that among the highlights Ozoani’s activities at the branch was his purchase of a number of copies of the Branch Journal, as well as his decision to support the work of the branch to the tune of N500,000 (five hundred thousand naira) in addition to the N1,000,000 (one million naira) he had earlier supported the branch with, in respect of its end-of-year Law Dinner.
In addition to these cash windfalls, Ozoani also pledged to on-board 200 members of the Bwari branch to the NBA National Health Scheme by the end of the first quarter of 2025.
It will be recalled that over the years – and especially during his tenure as chair of the NBA Welfare Committee – the learned silk has overseen a great time number of proactive interventions in the lives of sick, injured or financially-challenged, or otherwise disadvantaged lawyers across the nation.
