A troubling video has emerged showing Hon. Alex Ifeanyi Mascot Ikwechegh, a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing the Aba North and South Federal Constituency under the APGA, physically assaulting a Bolt driver in Abuja.
The incident reportedly occurred after the driver, who had delivered snails to Ikwechegh’s residence, refused to bring the items inside and asked the lawmaker to collect them himself.
In the footage, Ikwechegh can be seen aggressively confronting the driver and striking him while making threatening remarks. He is heard saying, “Can you imagine this rat? I can make this man disappear in this Nigeria and nothing will happen,” further claiming to be a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many condemning Ikwechegh’s behavior as an abuse of power and calling for accountability. It has also raised serious concerns about the safety and working conditions of ride-hailing and delivery drivers in the country.
Bolt, a leading ride-hailing platform in Nigeria, has yet to issue a public statement regarding the incident involving its driver. Additionally, neither the House of Representatives nor the APGA leadership has commented on Ikwechegh’s actions, despite his elected position representing his constituency in Abia State.
