The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, AlG Fayoade Adegoke, has set up a 6-man panel to probe the allegation of a woman, who said she was detained at a Maroko Police Station cell alongside some male and under-aged individuals.
The allegation, which was captured in a video, recently went viral.
Members of the six-man probe panel are DCP Ajao S. Adewale, Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Zonal Criminal Investigation Department, ZCID; ACP Ogunsakin Gbenga, Officer in-charge of Zonal Intelligence Department; Mr. Emma Nndozie, Group Crime Editor, Vanguard Newspapers; Comrade Adeoye Adewunmi, a human rights activist; Ivy Kanu of TVC News, and Mrs. Blessing Afe, a lawyer and social worker.
The panel is to be formally inaugurated by AIG Fayoade M. Adegoke at the MD Abubakar Conference Hall, Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos at 12 noon today.
According to Police authorities, the move is in line with the contemporary force leadership’s stand on respect for human right and gender-related matters.
