The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced the suspension of monthly clearance and weekly community development services for corps members across the country. The decision comes in anticipation of nationwide protests scheduled to commence on August 1st.
A memo circulated to NYSC officials in all states detailed the suspension, citing the scheme’s policy against corps member involvement in protests. The memo instructed corps members to refrain from wearing their uniforms until further notice and assured them of continued service while in civilian attire.
The NYSC emphasized its commitment to unity and reiterated its stance against any activities that could disrupt public order.
